Covenant of Mayors Office
63-67 Rue d’Arlon
The Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) invites all Greek local authorities to participate in the first of the Covenant of Mayors capacity building workshops that will take place all around Europe in the coming years.
The workshop will take place on March 13, 2014 in Thessaloniki, Greece, under the auspices of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, the City of Thessaloniki and the Greek Green Cities Network. It aims to transfer experience and best practices of Sustainable Energy Action Plan development and implementation among CoM Signatories, and highlight the financial opportunities and economic benefits obtained through energy efficiency practice in Local Government despite the crisis, giving path to an optimistic, but realistic sustainable future. The topics to be covered include the Covenant of Mayors’ vision for sustainable energy and the role of local authorities across Europe, financial and regulatory tools, support provided through various organisations and initiatives, and Greek Mayors’ experience in developing and implementing SEAPs.
The event will take place in the City Hall of Thessaloniki.
