What is a Covenant Coordinator?
The Covenant Coordinators are defined as those entities that are in a position to provide strategic guidance, technical and financial support to municipalities with the political will to sign up to the Covenant of Mayors, but perhaps lacking the skills and /or resources to fulfil its requirements, namely the preparation and implementation of the Action Plans.
The European Commission recognises Covenant Coordinators in the framework of the Covenant of Mayors as decentralised authorities such as regions, provinces or grouping of local authorities or national public bodies such as national energy agencies.
