The Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy brings together thousands of local and regional authorities voluntarily committed to implementing EU climate and energy objectives on their territory.
Signatories now pledge to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030 and to adopt an integrated approach to tackling mitigation and adaptation to climate change. . A question? Please check the FAQ page.
What is the Covenant of Mayors Office (CoMO)?
Funded by the European Commission, the Covenant of Mayors Office (CoMO) is responsible for the overall coordination of the initiative. The CoMO is managed by a consortium of European networks representing local and regional authorities, led by Energy Cities and composed of CEMR, Climate Alliance, EUROCITIES and Fedarene.
The coordination of the initiative is done in close collaboration with the Joint Research Centre, who assesses all Sustainable Energy Action Plans reported by municipalities via the online reporting system found when municipalities are logged in to My Covenant.
