      The city of Dijon, which has more than 900 municipal buidlings, as well as Dijon metropole which has 250, have committed to systematically connecting their buildings to the urban heating network which has been under developpment since 2013. Thus, the surface area heated on a heating network has increased from 24 000 m2 in 2013 on a network not yet using renewable energy to 175 000mé in 2018.       The city of Dijon has entered into a contract with a public partnership in order to manage the energy consumption of buildings with the objective of reducing energy consumption. The first contract which ended in 2016 had made it possible to reduce energy consumption by nearly 30% and reduce by 13% the use of the gas oil. The new contact, started in 2016 and which will last 8 years, aims to reduce energy consumption by 16% (7GWh/year) by definitively supplanting the use of the fuel oil.
